Cuts well but the blades do heat up
I have had this for several months now; my wife uses it for trimming when she provides the family haircuts. The unit itself works fine, but the blades can get extremely hot once they run for a while. They get hot to the point to where they can cause some degree of pain when touched to your skin. It comes with quite a few attachments, but we rarely use them. The cord could also be a little longer (we always use an extension cord with it). For occasional use, I recommend. For regular use, I would try another brand.
Pretty good
Comparing to another clipper that I have, which is a magnetic kind also from Andis that I brought nearly 10 years ago.
The good: This one cuts more throughly and is lighter to push too. It might give you a false sense that it's not cutting as much hair because it has a more gentle sound.
The bad: Blade gets quite hot when touched with skin, it is tolerable, but not pleasant.
Quality Product
I bought this trimmer set for to take care of my five year old son's hair. He is so delighted with the ease of which his hair is cut that he looks forward with anticipation to his next haircut. If anyone is loking for a quality hair care product,I will recommend an ANDIS trimmer or clipper any time. And the price is great too.

Works great for me!
I purchased the Andis clipper and trimmer combo offering. My primary need was for a cordless clipper and Andis appeared to be about the only one available that Icould find. The purchase was a bit pricy but I'm totally happy with how they function. The products are quality made and handle very nicely. There is more power provided when the clippers are plugged in, but for my needs, real close cut every 2-3 days, they work perfect. I recharge my clippers once a week. The instructions suggest that every 60 days you let the clippers run until the battery runs out. I did this once, but got tired of waiting for the clippers to stop, so my impression is that I could probably go for 2 weeks between charging the battery. Overall I consider them to be a very nice set of clippers/trimmers.
With this hefty price tag.....
....comes hefty disappointment. Andis is a good brand of clipper, "however" $80 for this pair of clippers is $70 too much. The power is weak and it takes about 24 hours to fully charge.
These clippers are not designed for professional use at all. I am not a barber, my wife cuts my hair every 2 weeks or so. It does a decent fade job and my 2 boys(3 and 4) are mixed and seems to cut through their hair with a little more ease than mine.
However it seems that my past corded clippers had more power which translate to easier cutting and trimming. My wife has to constantly go over various spots multiple times because it did not hit the spot the first or 2nd time.
My recommendation is to do your research and go with another pair of Andis clippers, stay away from this pair, or you'll be finding yourself writing a review saying I agree with the first guy that reviewed this product.

Trimmer is acceptional...
This trimmer is less expensive on Amazon than it is on Andis website. The trimmer has good quality, cuts very well, and does not leave marks, bumps, and/or pimples on my face like razors do. The only thing I have to look out for is it may take longer to trim than razors, depend if hair is wet, the amount of hair, and/or experience with handling trimmers. This is great for traveling as well. I give this trimmer an A-.
Pulls your hair, painful experience
I bought this product after visiting the manufacturer''s website, and by recommendation of a professional stylist. When I received it, I was very well impressed by the design, product color and overall appearance. However, when I tried it, I noticed that it pulled my beard hairs, and suddenly it became a very painful experience! I tried changing the batteries for new ones, using different combs, to no avail. Finally, I found that using my old Norelco trimmer combs it didn't pull my hairs. But eventually it does it sometimes, so it sleeps in my bathroom drawers now.
I do not recommend it, although design is very nice and feels very comfortable in your hand.
Great item
Hubby loves it. I gave it to him for Christmas and he actually through his old one away he likes this one so much.

near bald shave -- .1 mm of hair left...
This shaver is great for shaving any part of the body from head to toe.
I've been using it for over a year and love it. This will probably give you the closest shave for brittle hair unlike those other trimmers that cost 30$ and are a piece of junk. This trimmer shaves down to .1mm of hair and has enough power to trim right through brittle hair. I've been through dozens of trimmers from osten to whal to generic brands and the problem with those trimmers was that they didn't get close enough or weren't powerful enough for brittle hair.
I think if the blade was any closer you would probably rip your skin apart since its very powerful rpm wise. Barbers use this at my local shop thats how I found out about it. They use it for line ups and to shave neck hairs. Enjoy...

So far so great!
I've been cutting my own hair for about 10 years, and I have a pretty simple style (high and tight -- kind of like a Marine cut). I've had 2 other clippers prior to this, and this is the best one yet. As the prior review states, the clipper is ceramic and moves against a steel comb. The primary advantage I find is that these clippers don't get nearly as hot as my old clippers did after 20 minutes of cutting.
As far as cutting close, I use the bare blade (no add'l or different combs used) right on my scalp and I don't think I could get any closer without using a razor. My head feels like the stubble on your chin at the end of the day. The disassembly has been fine, and the unit is easy to clean. The cord is nice and long, and seems to have plenty of power and sharpness for anything I need. I love it, and would buy again!
Good but not great
It doesn't shave as closely as I would like, but for most of my cuts I'm using a comb any way so this is not a big deal. The build quality seems to be better than other Andis units I've seen, and it's fairly easy to clean. When you disassmemble the cutting assembly completely, however, it's a bit of a dance to get Humpty Dumpty all together again.
The big disappointment is that while the cutter is ceramic, the blade is not. WTF? Also, these cermaic cutters chip and break just like their steel counterparts. While I realize that steel and/or ceramic points are naturally going to be weak (structurally), I don't think they should be so fragile- especially when they only have to cut human hair.

Awesome Clippers
A sleek, powerful, and remarkably quiet set of clippers that are easy to use, easy to hold on to, and slender enough to manipulate around tight spots. The adjustable blade depth settings and 8 attachments allow seamless fading and tapering without leaving awkward layers. The clippers cut better and more thoroughly on the first pass than any other set I've ever owned. For the money, they work better than clippers I've paid twice as much for. Great motor, great design, and perfect cutting capabilities. I couldn't be happier with them.

Good lighting, poor cutting
I really want to like this product, but it just does not cut as well as the Wahl trimmer I replaced. I like the light, and I like how it looks and fits in my hand, but I just don't feel that it cuts very well. I have to go over a spot several times to trim the same area that the (cheaper) Wahl could handle in one shot.
Disappointed.
Good Trimmer
Good trimmer, works fine. Of course, slightly faster/powerful on the cord, but trims just like you would think either way. The head gets a little in the way of the light when the trimmer is close, but it gets you there, just like headlights.
Too Illuminating!
Great trimmer- I had to black out the light though, it was blinding!

Cheap
Inexpensive. Average quality. Not quite what I was looking for. But I got what I paid for.
saving money
It paid for itself in two uses. This is a great, easy to use product for someone who wants a buzz type haircut. I've only used it a few times on my son's head so I'm still trying to get used to it. Cuts very well. Not too noisey or uncomfortable to use. So far I'm very pleased with this purchase.
Lasted 9 months
After 9 months of use, an audible "snap" was heard; the clippers no longer cut hair although the motor still works. Although still under warrentee, I elected to instead purchase a set of quality Oster clippers (Oster Fast Feed, about twice the cost of the Andis clippers.)
Pros: Case and attachments are nice. A lot of features for cost.
Cons: Not a high-quality product. I expect a set of clippers to last a decade or more.
